Arts Educator Highlight: Chiarra Sorci

Meet Chiarra!! 🎭💕

Chiarra is the Artistic Director of @audacityperform, a non-profit youth theatre that specializes in after school theatre productions and workshops in the most underfunded and under-resourced schools in Silicon Valley.

I loved reconnecting with Chiarra and learning how she and Audacity are persisting through digital learning. Currently she is running an online tech theatre class at George Middle School. In this class students learn how to go through the design process and even receive take-home kits for their own hands on learning experience! (Swipe to see their most recent kit!)

Chiarra expressed how “technical theatre allows students who don’t want to necessarily perform, to still have an opportunity to be creative!” For example: if you swipe to see the last two photos you’ll see the before/after of a black box theatre at the middle school... that was built by middle schoolers!!
