An Arts Educator

Working as an arts educator, I am so often reminded that my job is not just about teaching young people how to dance with their feet pointed or spin a flag; I am a mentor and a lifeline. As an arts educator, I provide a safe space for my students to open up about their challenges at home or struggles with mental health, while also providing an outlet for them to express their emotions. I have witnessed time and time again that the arts truly do save lives.

Why Arts Education Matters:
Students who are exposed to drama, music, and dance are more proficient at reading, writing, and math
Students with arts education are 3x more likely to receive a Bachelor's Degree
Creativity is the #1 necessary job skill ranked by the World Economic Forum
Students with an arts education are 5x less likely to drop out of school
